Za-Za

Asya Shine

Za-Za is inspired by Gio Ponti’s rare bookcase with integrated drinks cabinet. The design concept works to incorporate features of the screen, cupboard, and table. Originally, the piece was envisioned for the hair salon, as a vanity. Instead of the vanity backing the wall, the vanities would move to the center of the salon and be supported by one another, back-to-back.
The  Za-Za cabinet -- as a single component or as a part of a space and work organizing system has a natural affinity with the fundamental social sharing nature of pizza.
The frame system holds an interchangeable array of shelves, cabinets, mirrors, and artifacts, in the simple manner that a crust plays host to an interchangeable array of toppings. Artfully or casually arranged they no doubt create a well-spring of inspiration for patterning such as deployed on the Za-Za table.  No doubt, Gio Ponti would approve.
